The most shocking, and deeply disturbing, aspects of me coming out as a sex abuse victim came from my “own tribe” when pundits actually took the side of the pedophile.  In this painting, I depicted my inner life during this time – when the dark spots of my life were revealed… and even spread a little.  Yes, this was a part of my story, but it did not define me.  It did not overcome me.
