Many times, you find yourself at a crossroads – when it’s not obvious if you will continue a downward spiral or begin to climb out of the morass.  In Chapter 9, I was in this ambiguous state, too desperate to hope that things could be different.  But, I also fell in love.  Love has a way of pulling you up, taking the edge off your shame, and lifting you into a different realm. This painting depicts that struggle, that battle between darkness and light – when you don’t quite know where you’ll land.  However, as John Lennon famously said, “Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.”
